So the other new drug eltrombopag otherwise known as Revolade here and Promacta in the States has been launched this morning. It works in a similar way to romiplostim (Nplate) by forcing the body to make more platelets.
The cost starts at £1,540 a month for the lower dose. Good luck to anyone who tries to get it from their Primary Care Trust.

I would like to add that Romiplostim or Nplate(another name)
is excellent and it hasn't got any bad side effects. It is very expensive though. I was cured after taking Nplate for one month and a half, since steroids and splenectomy did not help much! |
